The Collection

Eight things worth making slowly

Nothing here ships from a warehouse. You tell me colors, sizes, names, and themes; I cut, hook, knit, or pour it, and then it's yours. Lead times are honest and quoted up front.

Best Burp Cloths

I originally made this set as a baby shower gift for my cousin. She LOVED the simply adorable gift set.

I did not know at that time that I would never hear the end of the Best Burp Cloths EVER!!

Sold as a gift set, because one is never enough and you know it. Contoured to sit on a shoulder without sliding off, double-layered with a thirsty terry or flannel back, and topstitched twice at the curves where every other burp cloth gives up. They go through the wash a hundred times and come back softer.

Japanese cotton or cotton-linen face, cotton terry or double-brushed flannel back, all-cotton thread, pre-washed so nothing shrinks on you.

Crocheted Stones

Mine never last on my coffee table. I always end up giving them to my best friends. ♡

A real river stone, wrapped tight in fine cotton thread until it becomes a thing you can't stop holding. Sea Urchins get raised ridges and bobbles; the 4-Leaf Clover gets a hand-shaped motif worked right into the top. They're worry stones, paperweights, pocket luck — mostly they're the thing you give away.

Materials
Smooth river stone, mercerized cotton thread, 1.75–2.5mm hook, worked seamless over the stone.

Heritage Cable Knits

HAT. Infinity Scarf.

Two pieces, cabled the old way: a hat with a deep folded brim that actually covers your ears, and an infinity scarf you can loop twice and still tuck your chin into. Cables are worked by hand, not by machine, which is why the braid has that slight lean to it. Buy them as a pair and they'll match; buy them apart and nobody will know.

Worsted or bulky wool, merino, or a wool-acrylic blend if you need machine-washable. Undyed cream, or dyed to your color.

The Nope Bib

No they can't pull this one off.

Every bib in your drawer has been defeated by a nine-month-old. This one snaps at the back of the neck, out of reach of small determined fingers, with two snap positions so it grows with them. Quilted body, bound edges, no scratchy velcro to shred in the wash. The joke is the whole point, and the joke works.

Perfect for stargazing around a fire pit. Collapsable, sturdy, customizable woodburning design or cut outs.

Two boards, one slot, zero hardware — it comes apart flat and goes in the truck, then locks back together under your full weight and doesn't wobble. Sit low, lean back, look up. I burn the design in by hand or cut it clean through so the firelight comes through the back. Stains and finishes are optional; bare wood weathers beautifully too.

Stepping Stones of Growth

Solid cement stones with your loved ones (child, pet, grandparents) imprinted to touch. Perfect for making a stone path that shows their growth.

I started making these as a yearly tradition for my children.

You press a hand in, you press a foot in, you scratch the year underneath, and then one summer you look down the garden path and there it all is — five years of a kid, in order, in cement. It's the one thing I make that people cry over. Grandparents' hands. A dog's paw. The last stone in a path someone will keep forever.

Reinforced cement, sealed for freeze-thaw, cast round or square, roughly 10–14 in.

A class, not a product

Two hours, a hook, one ball of yarn, and the single most useful square in crochet.

No worries — The first one is always the hardest. We can gently guide you through your introductory phase of Crochet.

You will finish this class feeling comfortable & confident to continue to grow your crochet skills to your imaginations limits.

Absolutely no experience needed, and no shame in unravelling. We start with holding the hook in a way that doesn't cramp your hand, then a slip knot, then a chain, then the round that becomes a granny square. You leave with a finished square, the pattern written out in plain English, and enough muscle memory to keep going at home.

  1. Hold the hook & yarn without fighting them.
  2. Slip knot, chain, and join your first ring.
  3. Three clusters, corners, and how to count them.
  4. Round two, colour change, and fastening off.
  5. Where to go next: blankets, bags, covered stones.

Subsidized seats are available. Through the Kimmy's Corner outreach program, seats in every class are held and paid for so a child or family who can't cover the full cost still sits at the table. Ask for one when you register — no explanation required, no questions asked.

Kimmy's Corner is a craft and community workshop where moms, foster homes, and craft operators lease shop or studio space to run their own thing — a storefront, an art studio, a wood shop, a class schedule. Everything sold at The Maker's Table feeds back into that: the programs for children and the subsidized class seats.
